In this season, Jay (Ed O'Neill) organises a trip to the lake where the whole family can view the solar eclipse, and begins to ponder life for his family when he is no longer around. Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) realise the Dunphy family may have moved on from their annual Halloween traditions and Jay and Gloria (Sofía Vergara) celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary.
