Although AC/DC achieved its greatest commercial success after the death of original vocalist Bon Scott (1980's BACK IN BLACK and 1981's FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK featured replacement Brian Johnson), fans showed that they had not forgotten Scott when DIRTY DEEDS was released in the early '80s for American fans. The album skyrocketed directly to the top of the Billboard charts. Like DIRTY DEEDS, the 1984 EP, '74 JAILBREAK, features tracks previously unavailable domestically. The anthem Jailbreak was issued as a single early on, and proves to be the highlight of '74 JAILBREAK (a promo video was even filmed that resurfaced with the EP's release). There are a couple of other early rockers, You Ain't Got a Hold on Me and Show Business, an almost-instrumental (Soul Stripper), and a roughed-up take on the blues standard Baby, Please Don't Go as well. Fans of Bon Scott-era AC/DC should check out this short-but-solid collection of nearly forgotten songs.
